Agricultural and Marketing Strategy project with World Food Program
Summary
Suben Investments is currently partnering with World Food Programme to distribute post-harvest equipment among households. This project aimed at reaching out to 4250 farmers so as to avoid post-harvest grain loss. This training ensured that the beneficiaries set up the storage equipment like medium metal, metal, plastic silos, super grain bags and tarpaulins.
The following are the activities of Suben Investments Limited;
- Taking note of the storage equipment vouchers brought by the beneficiary, registering the beneficiary and all the necessary details of the storage equipment.
- Record the storage equipment which the beneficiaries have and collect advance payment.
- Receive storage equipment at delivery points and verify the quantity of storage equipment upon delivery
- Inspect storage equipment for any defects
- Handle storage equipment with due care so that it is in safe conditions.
- Transport storage equipment to selected beneficiaries
- Maintain records of storage equipment vouchers delivered to the beneficiaries
- Provide beneficiaries with the record of transactions taken in connection with storage equipment voucher
Action Africa Help Uganda
Suben Investment Limited together with Action Africa Help Uganda made a contract in 14th December 2012. Suben Investments Limited constructed 3 immovable/fixed maize cribs for post-harvest handling of maize for the livelihood sector.
These cribs were constructed at Mahani, Buguta and St. Micheal. The cribs were 2m wide and 4m long and had rat guards at the posts.
Kamwenge District Local Government and Kamwenge District Farmers Organization
Suben investments limited together with Kamwenge District Farmers organization joined a partnership on 13th October 2012. Suben investments was to make 90 energy-saving stoves to act as demo stoves. This was done in sub counties of Nkoma, Kamwenge T/C and Bihanga in Kamwenge district.
Suben investments supplied 30 energy-saving stoves and they were well constructed in the three sub-counties.
World Vision
Repair of child-friendly spaces at Rwamwanja Settlement Refugee
Suben Investments Limited together with World Vision joined a partnership on 23rd April, 2013. Suben Investments repaired 10 units of child-friendly spaces at Rwamwanja Settlement Refugee Camp at Kamwenge. This work was done as per employee technical expectations in accordance with technical drawings.
Suben Investments Limited did the following activities during the project;
- Stage completion description
- Repainting of all the structures
- Nailing of shaking structures to make them firm.
- Ramming of footings of structures to make them stable.
- Spraying of the soils around the structures with anti-termite solution
- Replacement of gates for all the CFS
The assessment and inspection of the work was done by a joint team from the office of the prime minister, UNHCR, and Windle Trust Uganda. This assessment confirmed that Suben Investments had constructed and repaired works as per contractual obligations and specifications given by World Vision.
Construction of temporary shelters at Rwamwanja Settlement Refugee Camp
Suben Investments Limited together with World Vision joined a partnership on 23rd April 2013. Suben Investments constructed 10 units of 5.2 X 6 meters temporally shelters in 10 child-friendly spaces at Rwamwanja Settlement Refugee Camp at Kamwenge. This work was done as per employee technical expectations in accordance with technical drawings.
Suben Investment Limited was responsible for the following activities;
- Stage completion description
- 2 X 6 meters structures
- Rooftop covered with tapline
- Sides roofed with tapline
- Medium poles for fencing and classroom 5.2 X6m
The assessment and inspection of the work was done by joint team from office of the prime minister, UNHCR, and Windle Trust Uganda. This assessment confirmed that Suben Investments had constructed and repaired works as per contractual obligations and specifications given by World Vision.
